Later, as a friend said, Jaitra got OTP from WhatsApp for his phone number. He was shocked when his friend told him that if he called to tell his friend, his phone would work. He did not give anyone's phone number for any OTP. If you call WhatsApp customer care immediately, it will be known that it is an OTP scam. Anti OTP scam so far..let's know what precautions to take to avoid this.

Anti OTP scam

You just bought a new phone. Need to convert WhatsApp from old phone to new phone. Then you will get OTP from WhatsApp for phone number verification. Enter it and you can use WhatsApp on your new phone. Now based on these verification OTPs hackers are committing cyber attacks targeting WhatsApp users.

As mentioned above, hackers send messages from an unknown number to your friends or relatives or acquaintances. The phone number is not working or your number is given by mistake. So the OTP that came to your phone will ask you to message them. If you send that OTP to them, you will immediately get a message on your phone that you have logged out of your WhatsApp account. This means that hackers will use your WhatsApp account by logging in with a different number on another device. It is as if your WhatsApp account details are completely in their hands. Because of that you run the risk of getting entangled. Occasional messages for OTP also come from the WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger accounts of people you know. This means that their WhatsApp account has already been hacked. This will hack into someone else's account in a similar way with the help of the contacts in your account.

And the solution to this problem

Before you remember two things. The first is that if you give a phone number for WhatsApp account verification you will get OTP. Secondly WhatsApp will not send any OTP without you asking. So you have to think twice if you get OTP without giving the phone number. Also make sure that if a message comes to your phone number for OTP on behalf of people you know, it is true. Also enable two-step verification for your WhatsApp account. This will require you to enter a separate PIN for account verification along with the OTP. As a result, if you send an OTP by mistake, your account will not be hacked because you do not have a PIN. If your account is hacked after sending OTP, immediately reset your WhatsApp and login again.
